Google has announced a significant update to its AI Mode within Search, focused on enhancing visual exploration and simplifying the shopping experience. The update allows users to search and refine results using natural language and visual inputs, making it easier to find exactly what they're looking for.
Key features of the updated AI Mode include:
* **Visual Exploration:** Users can now ask questions conversationally and receive a range of visual results, refining searches naturally by adding details and preferences.
* **Conversational Shopping:** Describe desired products as if talking to a friend, eliminating the need for complex filters. For example, ask for "barrel jeans that aren’t too baggy."
* **Shopping Graph Integration:** Access to Google's Shopping Graph of over 50 billion product listings, offering details like reviews, deals, and availability from retailers worldwide.
* **Advanced Image Understanding:** Powered by Google Search with Lens, Image search, and Gemini 2.5, AI Mode can analyze images and understand the context of questions to deliver highly relevant visual results.
The new experience is currently rolling out in English in the U.S.
