Canada's AI Leadership Strategy
Source: ised-isde.canada.ca
Canada seeks public input to shape its next AI strategy during a 30-day national sprint, open from October 1 to October 31, 2025. Input is welcome from various voices, including founders, researchers, workers, creators, students, public servants, and community members.
Building on the Pan-Canadian AI Strategy (since 2017) and the Canadian Sovereign AI Compute Strategy (2024), this engagement aims to identify future priorities. The government will review submissions, publish highlights, and develop a new strategy by the close of 2025. Note that submissions may be posted publicly on ISED's website, so avoid including personal or confidential details.
Canada aims to lead in secure and responsible AI. By leveraging its strengths, AI innovation legacy, and talent, the country intends to foster economic growth and opportunity for all. The vision is for AI to empower industries, protect rights, benefit the public, and inspire trust, ensuring all communities share in the advantages while managing risks.
