Designed by AECOM and led by George Hanna, the Clippers' Chief Technology Officer, the Intuit Dome combines smart hardware with sophisticated software. Hanna, who previously worked at Disney and Toyota, describes the arena as "a massive piece of smart hardware, built entirely on software." This approach redefines what a sports venue can offer, blending physical architecture with digital intelligence.

AI-Powered Features

One of the standout features is the giant LED "Halo Board," boasting 230 million pixels. Powered by Unreal Engine, this double-sided display reacts in real-time to crowd energy. Each seat is mapped to a pixel, allowing the board to visually respond to fan excitement by changing colors and intensity.

A single fiber network connects every ticket, concession, and camera feed, creating a personalized experience for each fan. Facial recognition gates streamline entry, while "Pick and Roll" markets use machine learning to automatically charge fans for items they select, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.

Connectopia: The Generative AI Experience

The highlight of the Intuit Dome is "Connectopia," an AI world-building experience developed by Luminary Design for AT&T. Located on the top level, Connectopia allows users to create unique 8K cinematic environments by simply describing their world.

This innovative system relies on a closed generative pipeline, powered by Nvidia RTX GPUs and AT&T Fiber. User input is processed by Gemma, a large language model that expands simple prompts into detailed narratives. These narratives drive an LTX-based image generator, which produces stills that are animated into short video clips through diffusion models.

The resulting visuals undergo three rounds of AI upscaling to reach 8 to 10K resolution in real-time. These clips are composited in Unreal Engine, creating a collaborative piece of digital art that blends each visitor’s unique world into an ever-changing panorama displayed on a giant 8K LED wall.
