Feeling overwhelmed by artificial intelligence? AI features are now integrated into many platforms. These include Google Search, Gmail, iPhones, and Windows. Fortunately, you can adjust settings to reduce AI's presence.
Turning Off Apple Intelligence
Apple's AI, called Apple Intelligence, is on iPhones, Macs, and iPads. It summarizes messages and edits writing. It also creates emojis and prioritizes notifications. You can disable it entirely or customize individual features within apps.
Bypassing Google's AI Overviews
Google heavily uses AI, notably in AI Overviews in Search. While you cannot fully disable AI Overviews, you can limit them. Select "Web" to see traditional website links. Gmail’s AI writing tools can be disabled in settings. However, similar tools in Google Docs and Slides are permanent.
Managing AI on Facebook
Meta integrates AI deeply, making it difficult to avoid. Facebook uses AI to summarize comments on posts. To disable this feature for your posts, go to Settings & Privacy, then Posts, and turn off comment summaries.
Disabling Microsoft Copilot
Microsoft's Copilot appears in the Taskbar and Microsoft 365 apps. Disabling it depends on your Windows version. Windows 11 Home users can uninstall Copilot easily. Pro users can only hide it from the Taskbar without advanced configuration.
Controlling Samsung's Galaxy AI
Newer Samsung devices have AI features for writing, photo editing, and message replies. You can disable these Galaxy AI features in settings. This is the most straightforward AI control option on this list.
