Google Offers Free AI Tools to EMEA University Students

Google has launched an initiative to provide university students in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) with free access to its advanced AI tools. This program, known as the Google AI Pro Plan, aims to equip students with the skills needed to excel in their studies and prepare for the future workforce.

The Google AI Pro Plan offers a 12-month complimentary subscription to students aged 18 and above in eligible regions. This plan includes access to Google's most advanced AI tools, designed to enhance learning and creativity. Students can now leverage these tools to improve their academic performance and explore innovative projects.

Features of the AI Pro Plan

The AI Pro Plan unlocks a suite of powerful resources for students. One of the key features is the expanded access to Gemini 2.5 Pro, which allows students to ask questions, upload images, and receive quick assistance with homework and writing assignments. Another notable tool is Deep Research, which saves time by generating custom research reports from numerous sources.

Additionally, NotebookLM serves as a unique thinking companion, helping students organize their thoughts with audio and video overviews. Veo 3 transforms text or photos into short videos with sound, enabling creative projects. Nano Banana reimagines images, turning abstract ideas into visuals.

Students also benefit from 2 TB of storage on Google Photos, Drive, and Gmail. This provides ample space for notes, projects, photos, and papers, ensuring that students have all the resources they need to succeed.

Gemini for Education

Google has introduced Gemini for Education, a version of the Gemini app tailored to the specific needs of the educational community. Gemini in Classroom is available to all Google Workspace for Education editions at no cost. These tools offer over 30 new capabilities, assisting teachers in planning efficiently and creating engaging content.

Google is also collaborating with universities worldwide to promote the use of Gemini and NotebookLM. This collaboration aims to integrate these tools into the educational system, enhancing the learning experience for students and teachers alike.

With Nano Banana, students can mock up concepts, prototype logos, design whiteboards, and virtually try on outfits. With Veo 3, they can quickly mock up scenes for a film project or generate b-roll footage for a presentation.
