Google Shopping has introduced new AI tools designed to help users realize their fashion and beauty ideas. These tools offer immersive shopping features that combine Google’s AI models with the Shopping Graph, aiming to simplify the process of turning fashion and beauty visions into reality and enabling more informed purchasing decisions.
Vision Match
Many shoppers have difficulty finding specific clothing items that match their vision. Now, mobile users in the U.S. can use vision match on Search and the Shopping tab to find products that align with their mental image. This feature, previously tested in Labs, allows users to describe a garment and uses AI image generation to display potential matches and similar products that are available for purchase.
To use vision match, search for a garment with specific details and scroll to the “Can’t find it? Create it” prompt. The system will provide suggestions to help refine the vision and allow browsing of available products. Vision match can also be accessed in the Shopping tab by tapping “Create & shop.”
AR Beauty Try-On
Many makeup users seek inspiration online, but it’s not always easy to find products or see how they would look. Google's AR beauty features now enhanced with Gemini models, allow U.S. shoppers to virtually try on and shop beauty looks inspired by celebrities, influencers, and trends. This feature is rolling out this week.
When searching for celebrity makeup looks or terms like “spring makeup” on mobile, users can virtually try on products inspired by those looks. For example, searching “soft glam” may offer options to try on neutral eyelash, rosy blush, and subtle lip gloss. To use the feature, tap “See the looks on you” in Search and click “try it on.” This allows for exploring full makeup styles with lipsticks, mascaras, eyeshadows, and eyeliners from various brands, all at once, using Google’s Machine Learning technology.
Virtual Try-On for Apparel
The virtual try-on tool, initially launched for tops and dresses, now includes pants and skirts from various brands. This allows shoppers to visualize how these garments look on diverse models, ranging from XXS-XXL. This makes it easier to find the right style, whether it's skinny jeans, a silk skirt, or linen pants.
To use this feature, search for pants or skirts on Google Search or the Google Shopping tab on mobile and desktop and select results with a “try on” badge. Updated Machine Learning models improve length accuracy and brand styling, generating complete looks from the top to the shoes. This feature aims to provide visual inspiration, helping shoppers visualize items and feel confident in their purchases.
