Press Release, Munich, 26 May 2025: The Lower Saxony Police are enhancing their operational training using virtual reality technology and have chosen HOLOGATE as their provider. The Munich-based company, a key provider of extended reality (XR) solutions, will supply its mobile HGXR XR platform, offering scenario-based, realistic training experiences driven by data.

With the upcoming implementation in Lower Saxony, HOLOGATE’s XR solutions are now being utilized in five German federal states, in addition to the Swiss police and the German Armed Forces. This demonstrates significant confidence from public safety authorities in immersive training technologies. The HGXR platform is modular, improving tactical operational training and readiness, and can be configured for various situations, training objectives, and pre-deployment preparations.

Leif Petersen, CEO and Founder of HOLOGATE, stated they are proud to be awarded the tender to support the police in Lower Saxony by enhancing their training. Petersen added that the trust placed in their systems by police forces in five German federal states, the Swiss Police, and the German Armed Forces is a strong endorsement of their technology’s operational value, and they look forward to expanding partnerships.

Immersive Training for Modern Policing

The HGXR platform is powered by HOLOFORCE Blue, a software environment designed for law enforcement training. It features a library of operationally relevant scenarios and virtual environments, mirroring real-world policing challenges. Trainers can customize elements like objects, vehicles, and weather using the integrated scenario editor, while managing dynamic incident progression in real time. The AI-driven XR architecture facilitates adaptation of virtual characters and live role-players, enabling training in communication, leadership, and escalation dynamics under realistic, high-pressure conditions. Command and operational equipment (FEM) can integrate into the virtual training, creating a tactically relevant training environment adaptable to different objectives.

The system is location-flexible, resource-efficient and customisable.

Mobile, Scalable, and Easy to Use

HGXR is designed for mobile use and can be set up quickly. The training area adapts to different spatial conditions, from small rooms to large halls. Its interface is user-friendly, allowing trainers to quickly learn the system and offering intuitive control. Users can adjust scenarios, participant configurations, and training flow in real-time, integrating virtual training into existing structures without complex infrastructure.

Structured Evaluation with After Action Review

The system includes an After Action Review (AAR) feature, allowing trainers to evaluate exercises in detail. Sessions can be replayed from multiple perspectives to assess factors like line of fire and timing, providing data-driven feedback for performance assessment and learning.

A Reliable Partner for Modern Police Training

HOLOGATE has been working with public safety authorities in Germany and Switzerland for years as a provider of XR training solutions. With the Lower Saxony contract, HOLOGATE strengthens its position as a technology partner. Authorities receive advanced technology and assistance throughout the project, from consultation and system rollout to training, maintenance, and support. Further development ensures operational readiness and builds trust in training that evolves with needs.
