Ogura injured at British GP

Trackhouse Aprilia rider Ai Ogura's participation in the British Grand Prix is uncertain after a crash on Friday at Silverstone. The Japanese rookie hurt his right knee in FP1 on Friday morning.

He missed the afternoon practice as he tried to recover for Saturday. Ogura said he was not going fast on the second run. He said he was trying to improve, but the timing was off, and he crashed.

Ogura said his right knee did not feel right after the crash, so he skipped the afternoon practice. He hopes his knee will feel better overnight and that he will be fit for Saturday. For now, he will do what he can and see what happens with his body.

This was Ogura’s sixth crash of the season, counting all sessions and races. That is about average for the MotoGP field.

Ogura's Season So Far

Ogura had a great start to the season, qualifying on the second row for the Thailand Grand Prix, finishing fourth in the sprint, and fifth in the grand prix. However, things have been more challenging since then. In Argentina, he raced well but was disqualified for a software issue. He has finished every race and has been in the top 10 in three of the last four grands prix.

Qualifying has been harder than Thailand suggested, with Ogura only making it into Q2 once since the opener. Missing practice means Ogura is in Q1 on Saturday, if he is able to ride.
