QWR and Kaynes Team Up to Build XR Devices in India
India’s technology manufacturing sector is set for a significant boost as QWR Interactive and Kaynes Technology join forces to produce extended reality (XR) devices within the country. This strategic partnership aims to develop and manufacture next-gen XR headsets and smart glasses, positioning India as a global hub for XR innovation and production.
The collaboration leverages QWR’s expertise in design and artificial intelligence with Kaynes’ robust manufacturing capabilities. Together, they aim to create India’s first complete XR manufacturing ecosystem outside of China. QWR will act as the independent design house, contributing intellectual property, designs, and calibration protocols for products like the VRone Pro, VRone Edu, and HUMBL AI Glasses. Meanwhile, Kaynes will handle large-scale production using new lines for surface-mount technology (SMT) and optical calibration.
Job Creation and Reduced Dependency
This initiative is expected to generate over 1,000 skilled jobs by 2027, aligning with India’s goals to strengthen its electronics manufacturing sector. A key objective is to reduce the country’s reliance on imported XR components by 40–50%, positioning India as a self-sufficient and globally competitive player in the XR market.
