Job Market Challenges for Graduates

The increasing capabilities of AI raise concerns about job availability for new graduates. Companies may cut corporate ranks due to AI, and a significant portion of entry-level, white-collar jobs could disappear.

Recent data indicates a tough job market for graduates, with the unemployment rate among bachelor’s degree holders rising to 6.1% in May. Fields related to AI exposure, such as commercial art & graphic design, fine arts, and computer engineering, show unemployment rates above 7%.

She also mentions that roles in the skilled trades or healthcare are relatively stable.
