AI to Automate Jobs?

Mechanize, a San Francisco start-up, is creating A.I. tools with the goal of automating white-collar jobs. The company aims to make this happen quickly.
Years ago, tech executives would say that A.I. would augment workers, not automate them. They claimed A.I. tools would assist workers and free them from boring tasks.
Those statements reflected the limits of the technology at the time. A.I. was not advanced enough to automate most jobs or replace college-educated workers in fields like tech, consulting, and finance.
That is changing, as current A.I. systems can now write software, produce research reports, and solve math and science problems. Newer A.I. “agents” can perform long sequences of tasks and check their own work.
Some experts are concerned that recent unemployment among college graduates indicates that companies are using A.I. to replace entry-level workers.
Mechanize's Goal
At a San Francisco event, Mechanize, stated their goal of automating all jobs. Tamay Besiroglu, one of the founders, said the company wants to fully automate the economy.
