A new study from Abu Dhabi’s Department of Government Enablement (DGE) indicates AI could handle hiring, training, and even vacation suggestions in the future. The study suggests that by 2040, AI will significantly change how people are hired, how they work, and how their careers develop.

The Emerging Trends Report in Talent Management (2024–2040) states that AI could recommend wellness plans, assist in career changes, assign individuals to teams, and predict potential resignations, in addition to assisting with daily tasks.

The report identifies 16 trends that could reshape talent management in both government and private sectors, including AI-driven hiring and training, as well as self-managed teams. Gamified work environments with leaderboards and virtual reality training may also become common.

The DGE is currently using AI to monitor employee progress, decrease resignations, and develop improved career pathways within Abu Dhabi's public sector. Ruba Yousef Al Hassan from DGE emphasizes the importance of preparing people for these changes. Abu Dhabi is implementing AI-powered tools to streamline goal alignment across departments and reduce meeting times.

The report suggests future jobs will prioritize skills over degrees and involve daily interaction with AI. The report hints that UAE residents, particularly those in the public sector or tech, should upskill and prepare for these changes.
