AI Enhances Digital Accessibility for Consultants
CI&T, a tech-business specialist, highlighted AI's role in accessibility and its collaboration with Natura, Brazil’s largest multinational cosmetics company, to create a more inclusive digital environment for people with disabilities. This follows Global Accessibility Awareness Day.
The initiative focuses on diversity and better user experiences. It has impacted 1.8 million Natura and Avon Beauty Consultants by providing more intuitive and accessible experiences tailored to their navigation needs.
Collaboration and Impact
Over 60 experts from Natura and CI&T collaborated to create a lasting digital transformation that can adapt and identify new needs over time.
For CI&T, AI helps identify less obvious barriers, suggests improvements in real-time, and automates recurring checks on digital platforms. CI&T employees with disabilities were directly involved in creating and validating interfaces.
Cinthia Oliveira, global head of ESG at CI&T, stated that involving individuals with disabilities in development makes the initiative more practical and connected to users' realities, guiding more empathetic and effective solutions.
Three Main Fronts
The work has evolved based on technical diagnosis, active participation of people with disabilities, and continuous team training.
Tools like CI&T Flow, CI&T’s GenAI platform, use AI to assess digital interfaces according to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and A11Y best practices. Empathy workshops and leadership training also contribute to a more diversity-conscious culture.
