Meta and Anduril Partner on XR Technology

Anduril, a defense technology firm, is partnering with Meta Platforms, Inc. to create integrated extended reality (XR) tools. Anduril announced the new systems will enhance perception for U.S. military forces and offer intuitive control of autonomous platforms during combat.

According to Anduril, the partnership leverages over a decade of investment by both companies in hardware, software, and AI. The project is financed through private investment and aims to save the U.S. military billions by utilizing high-performance technologies initially for commercial use.

Statements from Leadership

Mark Zuckerberg, Founder and CEO of Meta, stated that Meta has spent a decade building AI and AR to enable future computing platforms. He added they are proud to partner with Anduril to bring these technologies to American servicemembers.

Palmer Luckey, Founder of Anduril, is pleased to work with Meta again, stating his mission is to turn warfighters into technomancers, which the products they are building with Meta will do.

Lattice Platform Integration

The mixed reality features will integrate with Anduril’s Lattice platform, an AI-driven command and control system. Lattice aggregates and analyzes data from many inputs to deliver real-time situational awareness. Soldiers will have streamlined access to Lattice’s analytics via AR/VR interfaces. This is expected to transform how military personnel interpret and respond to battlefield data and enable quicker, more effective decision-making during combat.

This collaboration signals a new era in defense technology where innovation focuses on smarter and faster systems to keep warfighters ahead of threats.
