Levi Strauss & Microsoft Partner to Develop AI Retail Superagent

Levi Strauss & Co. (LS&Co.) is collaborating with Microsoft to revolutionize retail operations through the integration of AI and cloud technologies. The partnership focuses on developing an AI superagent embedded in Microsoft Teams to streamline internal processes and enhance employee productivity across corporate, retail, and warehouse environments.

AI-Powered Transformation

The AI superagent acts as a central hub for employees to ask questions and access information through a unified conversational interface. This agent connects to multiple subagents, simplifying support and knowledge sharing. According to Jason Gowans, chief digital and technology officer at Levi Strauss & Co., the AI initiative is pivotal in transforming the company into a direct-to-consumer (DTC) retailer focused on personalized and efficient customer interactions.

Broader Technology Adoption

LS&Co. is adopting Microsoft Surface Copilot+ PCs running Windows 11 to handle complex workloads with improved speed and reliability. Microsoft Intune is being used for device onboarding and application deployment, while GitHub Copilot supports innovation in observability, release management, and quality engineering.

Cloud Infrastructure

The company is leveraging Microsoft Azure to migrate application workloads from on-premises data centers to the cloud. This migration, facilitated by Azure Migrate and GitHub Copilot, aims to consolidate LS&Co.'s data center environment, enhancing scalability and efficiency.

Keith Mercier, vice president of Worldwide Retail and Consumer Goods Industry at Microsoft, highlighted the partnership's potential to drive innovation and creativity in retail through AI and cloud technologies.
